bio

Originally from Westchester, NY, Simone started her volleyball career in middle school, playing for Downstate Volleyball Club as a right side hitter for several years, before transitioning to play as a setter. During her time at Downstate, she played on the number one team in the region and was given Coaches’ award twice. She played for the Varsity team at Briarcliff High School for four years as a setter/right side and was named MVP and an all-Section athlete her final year. For her last year of club volleyball, she transitioned to Chelsea Piers Volleyball Club, where she met Garrett and Cat, and played as a setter/DS.

In college, she played on the club team at the University of Michigan and began her coaching journey, coaching young volleyball players at Future Stars camp. Her coaching philosophy centers positive youth development, balancing competitive and challenging play with building self-confidence, teamwork, commitment and other skills that translate beyond the court.

Outside of coaching, Simone works in public health for the Gates Foundation, recently earning a Masters in Public Health at Johns Hopkins in health policy and maternal and child health. She loves the opportunities she gets to travel for work and spend time with her dog, Wrigley.
