A lifelong Fairfield, CT resident, Matt Narwold comes to NEVBC with over fifteen years of high school girls and boys volleyball coaching experience, all of which have been at Fairfield Warde High School. Matt’s volleyball career began as a high school player at Fairfield Ludlowe High School, collecting the honors of All-State and All-FCIAC his senior year before heading to college to compete in club programs at Southern Connecticut State University. While in college, Matt began coaching at the junior varsity level with both the boys and girls programs at Fairfield Warde. After college, Matt continued to compete and play in regional and national volleyball competitions, something he continues to this day.
As a coach, Matt takes great pride in making every effort to teach each player he works with to become not only a good player, but more importantly a good person– both on and off the court. During his time at Fairfield Warde, Matt has emphasized creating a program that places importance on becoming a proper student-athlete, making sure that each player is making an impact in the classroom and on the court. His athletes consistently qualify for FCIAC and States each year, all while creating an incredible family bond full of memories for years to come.
Outside of volleyball, Matt is Dean of Students at a middle school in Fairfield. He also loves to golf, play volleyball with friends, and spend as many nights as he can outside at the firepit with his new wife, Kat.
