Coach Kyla has been immersed in the world of volleyball since she was nine years old. Originally from Fishers, IN, her journey began at Hamilton Southeastern High School, where she honed her skills before transitioning to play for the prestigious Munciana Volleyball Club. Currently in her fifth year at Fairfield University, Kyla has built an impressive collegiate career as a member of the Fairfield Stags volleyball team. During her time there, she has earned multiple accolades, including two MAAC championships in 2021 and 2023, both of which led to NCAA First Round appearances. As a team leader, Kyla served as captain for three consecutive years (2022-2024) and was named to the MAAC All-Championship Team in 2023.
Outside of her playing career, Kyla has dedicated her time to coaching and mentoring aspiring volleyball players. She has assisted various teams and coached camps at MuncianaIndy, where she refined her coaching abilities, particularly as a Libero and Defensive Specialist (DS). Kyla’s coaching philosophy is rooted in the satisfaction of watching her athletes successfully apply the skills she’s worked to instill in them. Her favorite drill, “Moneyball,” reflects her focus on developing precision and strategy, key aspects of her coaching strengths. While she is proud of her leadership and contributions on the court, her greatest joy comes from seeing her players grow and improve.
In addition to her athletic and coaching pursuits, Kyla is currently pursuing a Master’s degree while preparing for a career as an Auditor at Deloitte. She is passionate about continuing her education and professional development. When she’s not on the volleyball court or focused on her studies, Kyla enjoys reading, listening to music, and spending time with her friends and family.
