Coach Harryzen is a dedicated volleyball player and coach from Hawaii, with a distinguished playing career and a passion for mentoring the next generation of athletes. Currently a freshman on the men’s volleyball team at Sacred Heart University, Harryzen has a strong foundation in the sport, having played at both Spike and Serve Volleyball Club and Kamehameha High School. His competitive career includes multiple accolades and significant achievements, particularly through his involvement with the USA National Team Development Program (NTDP), where he trained for three years.
Throughout his high school career, Coach Harryzen was a standout player, earning consistent recognition for his skill and leadership. He was named to Hawaii’s FAB 15 list each year since his sophomore season and played a pivotal role in his team’s success. As a three-year starter on the varsity team, Harryzen showcased his versatility by playing multiple positions, culminating in a State Championship victory in 2024. Additionally, he was honored as the Most Outstanding Player at the Iolani Hawaii Classic in 2022 and earned back-to-back All-Tournament Team selections at the state tournament.
As a coach, Harryzen has guided his teams to impressive results in club tournaments, consistently placing in the top rankings. His club teams have earned multiple top-five finishes, with a notable 3rd place in the Open Division. Coach Harryzen’s coaching philosophy emphasizes technical development, mental toughness, and a deep love for the game. He is committed to fostering growth and excellence both on and off the court, helping athletes reach their full potential through focused training and personal mentorship.
