Emma Appleman joins NEVBC with a decorated collegiate background as a standout student-athlete and leader at the College of Charleston. A two-year captain of the Division I volleyball program, Emma helped lead her team to a Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Conference Championship and an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2024. Her athletic excellence was recognized early when she was named the 2021 Gatorade Player of the Year in Connecticut.

​In addition to her accomplishments on the court, Emma is widely recognized for her commitment to academic and community leadership. She was honored as the 2024–2025 CAA Institutional Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year and has held numerous leadership roles including President of the College of Charleston Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Emma also initiated impactful programming for mental health and student-athlete transition during her internship with the athletic department and founded a fundraiser for cancer research with Magee-Women’s.

​Emma’s coaching philosophy is centered on holistic development—building strong, resilient athletes while fostering a supportive, competitive team culture. Her experiences as a collegiate captain, mentor, and program builder make her a dynamic addition to the NEVBC coaching staff, and she’s passionate about helping young athletes grow both on and off the court.
