bio

Amy’s love for volleyball began in college when she played competitively for Yankee Volleyball as both a libero and as a setter. She remained active in local competitive volleyball leagues for over ten years following college graduation, including playing at the USA Volleyball Adult Nationals.

Her seasoned run as a girls and boys high school coach combined with her club coaching experience makes her a welcome addition to Northeast Volleyball Club. Her coaching resumé includes time at West Haven High School, Notre Dame High School (Fairfield, CT), and Norwalk High school before her current roles as the Brien McMahon High School (Norwalk, CT) girls assistant coach and the Newtown High School boys head JV coach. Amy’s most memorable coaching moments include the Newtown boys team’s first semi-finals appearance at states in 2019 after having been a varsity sport for only four seasons, as well as their back-to-back SWC Championships in both 2018 and 2019. With over a decade of experience in club coaching, Amy has been at the helm of teams for a number of clubs across Connecticut, including Greenwich Volleyball Club, CT Stars, CT Velocity, and CT Juniors in addition to the time she’s been with us here at Northeast.

With nearly three decades of experience in teaching middle schoolers, Amy currently serves as the Instructional Coach for Digital Learning for all of Norwalk Public Schools. Prior to her present role, she spent time teaching science and math in Norwalk, Stratford, and West Haven. As a teacher, Amy puts great value not only on technical skill, but on the chemistry of a team. Outside of teaching and coaching, Amy enjoys scrapbooking, traveling, and reading. We’re so happy Amy is with us on Team Northeast!
