Alex is originally from Durham, North Carolina, where she grew up playing both volleyball and soccer at a high level. She played for NC Academy in North Carolina before going on to play club volleyball at Penn State. Alex was invited to train for the USA Volleyball A1 Junior High Performance team, as a libero, where her team earned a silver medal finish. In high school, she was an All-State athlete in both volleyball and soccer, experiences that shaped her competitive drive and love for the game.
Outside of volleyball, Alex is an elementary teacher in Darien, CT, where she finds the same joy in supporting her students’ growth as she does in coaching athletes. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes winning as the product of hard work, communication, and resilience, while also valuing sportsmanship, trust, and having fun. She loves building strong connections with her players and helping them thrive not only on the court, but also as teammates and individuals.
Alex is excited to join the Northeast Volleyball Club community and bring her passion for teaching, playing, and coaching to the program.
