Shawn Hoyt brings a deep background in youth programming, shaped by his work as both an educator and volleyball coach. Since joining Northeast Volleyball Club in 2019, he has been instrumental in the growth of youth volleyball across the region, expanding our Launch and Academy programs and helping to build a strong foundation for young athletes

A Connecticut native, Shawn attended Killingly High School before earning his bachelor’s degree in Sports Biology from Springfield College and master’s in Human Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport. He began his volleyball coaching career in 2012 at Woodstock Academy, where he was promoted to Head Coach after just two seasons, and got his start in club volleyball with Husky Volleyball Club.

In 2017, Shawn joined the coaching staff at Greenwich High School, where he helped lead the team to both FCIAC and State Championship titles. He later became Assistant Director at Greenwich Volleyball Club, leading youth development through the Future Elite Program, and was named Head Coach of the Greenwich Boys Volleyball program.

Outside the gym, Shawn serves as the Science Program Administrator at Greenwich High School. He brings the same passion for teaching into his coaching, developing athletes who are not only technically sound, but also mindful, driven, and coachable.
