Originally from Portsmouth, UK, Ryan has been coaching for 12 years, with experience at all levels ranging from youth club programs to NCAA Divisions 1 and 3. Ryan has acted as a head and assistant coach for both girls and boys club teams, and specializes in setter training and film analysis. Ryan recently moved to Connecticut New Jersey where he was working as the Assistant Coach for both men’s and women’s volleyball programs, and as Director of Volleyball Operations at St. Francis College in Brooklyn. He is currently the assistant coach at Trinity College in Hartford.

Ryan studied Philosophy and Law at Montclair State University, and earned his MBA at Durham University in England, where he first met NEVBC Directors Cat, Garrett, and Frog. He has played professionally as a setter in England, Germany, The Slovak Republic, and spent two years as a member of the England Men’s National Team.

In addition to coaching, Ryan creates customized highlight films and assists athletes in the recruiting process for those looking to play in college or professionally. Off of the court, Ryan teaches music lessons and is a session musician who has co-written for various artists.
