Coach Kate brings a unique background in coaching, strength and conditioning, sports science, and athlete development to Northeast. A Darien, Connecticut native, Kate earned her BSc (Hons) in Neuroscience from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, graduating with First Class honors after four years on the Dean’s List. She is currently pursuing a Master’s in High Performance Conditioning – Sports Scientist at Escuela Universitaria Real Madrid – Universidad Europea in Madrid, Spain.
Kate has extensive experience working with athletes both on the field and in the weight room. At the University of St Andrews, she coached the Women’s Football Club while also serving as a Strength and Conditioning Intern, supporting performance teams across football, rugby, netball, and rowing. She later joined the Real Madrid Football Academy as a Strength and Conditioning Intern, helping lead training designed to develop strength, movement quality, and overall physical performance.
Kate is also no stranger to Northeast! She previously served as an Assistant Strength Trainer at NEVBC, supporting coaches and leading strength and conditioning sessions for youth athletes. Her coaching background also includes more than seven years as a martial arts instructor, and she holds a Second Degree Black Belt in Karate.
As both an athlete and leader, Kate served as captain of the University of St. Andrews Women’s Football 2s for three years and previously captained the varsity soccer, basketball, and tennis teams at King School. Her approach to coaching combines technical knowledge with an emphasis on teamwork, confidence, positive team culture, and helping athletes become stronger and more capable competitors.
Kate is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist, with additional training in anthropometry and concussion awareness. Her passion for sports science and athlete development continues into her graduate research, where she is studying female-specific risk factors in ACL injury prevention within women’s football.
