Kate Cooper is a seasoned volleyball player and coach, hailing from Montreal, QC, and New Canaan, CT. She developed a deep passion for the sport over the course of her playing career, which began at New Canaan High School and continued for four years at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). At RIT, Kate was a standout player, earning Liberty League All-Conference honors in 2012, and securing her place in the top 10 for both season and career aces. Even beyond her collegiate career, she remains deeply involved in the sport, actively playing beach, grass, and indoor volleyball.
In addition to her playing career, Kate has dedicated herself to coaching, bringing her extensive knowledge and enthusiasm to the role. As a graduate assistant coach at RIT, she refined her coaching skills, focusing on motivating players and keeping energy levels high. Kate’s coaching strengths lie in her ability to foster a positive and dynamic atmosphere that encourages growth, teamwork, and fun. While her favorite drill, “Dig, Tip, Chase!”, is a reflection of her commitment to developing well-rounded players, Kate’s true coaching satisfaction comes from seeing her athletes rise to their full potential.
Outside of volleyball, Kate serves as the Senior Vice President of eCommerce for Marketing.com, where she oversees digital strategy and innovation. Her professional expertise in marketing complements her coaching style, as she brings a disciplined, strategic approach to the volleyball court. A passionate traveler and devoted Buffalo Bills fan, Kate is always looking for new experiences and challenges. She looks forward to continuing her journey with the NEVBC community, and is excited to share many more memorable coaching moments with her athletes.
