Bryan played for Shelton High School’s boys team and was a club player for CT Juniors/Mizuno East Volleyball Club and Husky Volleyball Club. After high school, Bryan continued to play volleyball competitively through both Yankee indoor and outdoor tournaments.
Bryan’s coaching career began in 2010 as the assistant coach for both the Shelton High School girls and boys teams. Ranked #4 in the state during Bryan’s tenure, the Shelton High School Boys Team made it as far as the semifinal match of the state tournament. In 2015, he became the Head Coach for Masuk High Girls Varsity Team (then ranked #6 in the state). In his final year at Masuk, he also stepped in as the Head Coach for the Masuk High School Boys Team and helped them achieve the #9 ranking in the state of Connecticut. During this same time, Bryan also coached for Mizuno East Volleyball Club where he led the 16-1s team to a 2018 NERVA Regional Championship. He was the Head Coach when they went to compete at the National level at the 2018 & 2019 Boys Juniors National Championships. Most recently, Bryan has been a head coach and assistant coach at Greenwich Volleyball Club where he has helped the U15, U16, and U17 teams to multiple medals and tournament victories. Bryan is now at Greenwich Academy as the varsity assistant and is a substitute teacher for the physical education department. In his spare time outside of coaching, Bryan enjoys birding, puzzles, and photography.
When asked what Bryan’s motivation is in coaching athletes, he had this to say, “My goal is to make sure our players are great teammates on the court as well as off the court, to give them the tools they may need to handle challenges they may face, and to enjoy the time that they spend here while focusing on their goals.”
