2024-2025 Team Info

2024-2025 Team Information

Girls U14-U18 Open

These are our highest-level teams. All of our U15-U17 Open athletes (and many of our U14 Open athletes) are stand-out Varsity level players who are making huge impacts for their high school teams. Athletes in contention for U16-U18 Open teams will also typically display impressive physical testing numbers (i.e., height, vertical jump, approach touch). Many athletes from last year's U15-U18 Open teams are actively pursuing college volleyball opportunities and some are already committed to playing in college. In the 2023-2024 U18 Girls program, 12 athletes are committed to playing in college this fall (7 athletes to Division I, 1 athlete to Division II, and 4 athletes to Division III). Open Teams will be traveling out of the region on numerous weekends throughout the season, as well as competing in the highest division within our region in order to provide the most exposure to high-level competition. U14-U17 Team rosters will be limited to 10-11 athletes in order to enhance each athlete's experience, so this program requires the highest level of commitment.* *We are flexible with our U14-U15 athletes playing multiple sports, as we know it’s extremely beneficial to your athletic development. Playing multiple sports can work for the U16+ athletes but only with very good upfront communication and planning. Any U16+ athletes who are considering playing a high school winter or spring sport MUST consult with the Club Director before making the commitment to a Club or Open team. The expectation is that club volleyball commitments, especially tournaments, will be prioritized over winter or spring high school sports, and we will require you to meet with your high school coach to ensure your commitment to your NEVBC team can be upheld.

Girls U13-U18 Club

Our Club level teams are consistently some of the most competitive teams in the region and in many cases are competing with and beating the "1's" teams from other clubs. Most of our Club level teams finished in the top 10 of the New England region in the 2023-2024 season, and our 17.2 team won the 17 USA Division of the Boston Festival, our region’s largest and most prestigious tournament. Many athletes from our U16-U18 Club teams are experienced varsity level players who are actively pursuing college volleyball. We have 3 athletes from 18.2 who are committed to playing NCAA volleyball this fall, and many others who were recruited and chose to pursue other opportunities in college. Varsity volleyball experience is not required, especially for our younger club teams (U13-U15), but experience playing on a competitive team (school or club) is crucial. Our Club teams are focused on building a strong foundation of technical skills, developing high-IQ volleyball players, and teaching athletes how to compete within a sophisticated system of play. This program requires a high level of commitment, as athletes will be expected to attend three (3) practices each week and all tournaments (except 18.2, which will practice 2x weekly). Our Club teams will usually play in the Club, USA, and even Open divisions at tournaments.

Girls U12 Club

With reduced costs and fewer practices per week than our U13-U18 teams, our U12 team program is an ideal stepping stone into club volleyball. This program requires a higher level of commitment than our developmental classes and Fall Club, but still allows flexibility for multi-sport athletes. U12 Team coaches will teach athletes to love the game while teaching crucial fundamentals and training habits. Athletes will develop an in-depth understanding of our systems while having FUN through competition.

Girls U13-U17 Academy

Our Academy team program allows some flexibility for multi-sport athletes and provides more opportunities to play club volleyball at NEVBC. With reduced costs, fewer practices per week, and local competitions, our Academy team program is the perfect opportunity for multi-sport athletes, athletes who aren’t able to commit to the rigor of a full Club or Open season, or athletes who weren’t selected for a Club or Open team this year. With 2 weekly practices, 3 Single Day tournaments, and 4 or 5 local Multi-Day tournaments, the Academy program is sure to help athletes advance their game and make big strides ahead of their school seasons. Coaches will emphasize building fundamental skills, teaching through competitive 6v6 gameplay, and having FUN through training and competition. Athletes who want to play on our Academy teams will attend the Girls Club Team Tryouts for their age group. All athletes who attend tryouts will have an opportunity to be evaluated and placed on any team in their age group.

Girls Academy + Practice Player

Since our inception, Northeast VBC has always maintained that there is NOTHING more valuable than training. We spend countless hours planning and executing training sessions that will challenge participants to learn, adapt, and grow within a positive and competitive environment. In that light, each season, we invite at least two athletes to join our Open and Club teams for all of their practice and training sessions, without traveling to tournaments throughout the year. This opportunity is reserved for athletes who we feel are on the cusp of making the travel roster, and who will undoubtedly add value to the team’s training sessions. ALL U13-U17 Open and Club Practice Players will be offered a roster spot on an Academy team at the same age group or higher! This new policy will give athletes the opportunity to train with a higher-level Open or Club team while retaining the opportunity to play in competitions with an Academy team. *Note: Athletes being considered for Practice Player positions at the Open level will also be given the alternative of being a Rostered Player on a Club level team. Please keep in mind that the Practice Player opportunity is not a good fit for everyone and will be best filled by athletes who are great teammates, eager to improve, and open-minded to the opportunity from the start. We ask that all tryout participants seriously consider if they would be willing to accept this opportunity if presented to them. We will ask athletes and families to respond to their offer within 24 hours of receiving it and cannot hold spots for longer than that.

NEVBC Launch Program

Our Launch Program gives athletes the experience of team training and 6 v 6 play with less time, travel, and financial commitment. All athletes will learn fundamental skills, how to be a great teammate, and how to play the game of volleyball in a fun, encouraging environment. Athletes will be assigned teams and will compete against other Launch teams, but will not travel to tournaments.
